Reduce Anxiety in Minutes with this Technique

There is nothing worse than having negative feelings and emotions consume and control you. I hate to admit it but I felt like a ball of anxiety for two days straight this week and nothing was helping. Meditation, hot baths, calming music – I tried all the tricks up my sleeve with no relief. My anxiety couldn’t be fooled.

This week while I was experiencing these negative feelings I started reading The Judgement Detox by Gabby Bernstein. The universe had a way of putting this book in my hand at just the right time. I pre-ordered it a few months ago and it showed up last week. Do you ever notice how those things happen exactly when you need them?

Reduce Anxiety in Minutes by up to 50%

In The Judgement Detox Gabby suggested using Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) also known as tapping as a way to heal from negative emotions. Don’t get caught up in the fancy name, it truly is a very simple method. I prefer to call it tapping since EFT is just plain hard to remember.

Gabby explains, “EFT is a psychological acupressure technique that supports your emotional health.” EFT requires using your fingertips to tap on specific meridians while talking through whatever is causing your negative emotions. If you’ve ever had acupuncture, then you’ve had needles placed on different meridian points. EFT is utilizing those same meridians but without the needles.

A research study done by Dr. Dawson Church tested 83 subjects cortisol levels after a 1-hour tapping session. Cortisol is your body’s main stress hormone. The results showed an average cortisol reduction of 24% and even hit as high as 50% in some subjects from tapping. Those are pretty significant results!

I decided to give this a try for myself. Before I started, Gabby suggests that you rate your level of discomfort on a scale from 1-10. This way you can measure the effectiveness. I gave myself a 10 because I felt that awful. I started tapping on the various points outlined in the book while thinking about my stressor.

I can’t believe I am saying this but after my tapping session, my anxiety went from a 10 to 2. As I was tapping I noticed my body start to feel calmer. By the end of my session, I felt relaxed, at ease and was able to go to sleep soundly. It was kinda unreal!

Tapping can be used for all sorts of negative emotions, trauma, and pain. Test it out for yourself. Seriously, I am using this all the time and I urge you to try it out next time you don’t feel yourself. Stay balanced peeps!
