Dreams do come true when an allergen-friendly cake appears at your bridal shower. My mother and sister went above and beyond to pull together the most beautiful celebration. Plus, there were food options for me at every course. Dessert was no exception.
The cake was free of dairy, eggs, soy, and gluten. My mom purchased from Papa Ganache Bakery in Matawan, New Jersey. It was then decorated with flowers by the florist giving it a bridal aesthetic. The cake was nestled on a table with beach views in the background. There were also regular desserts provided by the restaurant. Something for everyone!
More often than not, I attend events like these and cannot eat anything. Especially, dessert. I certainly don’t expect others to create menus around me (that would be very difficult) but I often attend after eating a big meal and stuffing a chocolate Lara Bar (this one is my favorite flavor) in my bag for a little something sweet. It felt good not worrying about meal planning this time around.
While I was nervous being the center of attention, it was truly magical to celebrate our upcoming wedding surrounded by all our closest friends and family. Thank you to everyone who made it very special.
P.S. This was the first time I’ve eaten anything resembling a cake in 6 years and it was glorious. P.S.S. There was no fork or plate near me so I dove right in.
